I travel. I've lived and worked in Japan, made friends in Sweden, fallen in love in Germany. I'm in constant search of the unknowable as an attempt to better understand the world and my role within it. I'm also a writer, hard at work on my first book of poems, and, believe it or not, teaching is not just a job for me: It's an intellectual and creative passion of mine. My job allows a part of me to remain a student, constantly revising my ideas about things I thought I already knew.
My name is Marta Lapinska. I was born in Poland but, now i live in Queens since i was 6. I'm a athlete. I play soccer, i did kick boxing for a while and now i go to professional boxing matches. Sport is always around me. I'm pretty active. Also, i like proving people wrong. Being 4'10 i get underestimated but, i take on the challenges and prove people wrong. I won MVP in hs and was the youngest captain on my team who was captain for all 4 years of hs. I love making people laugh and i'm big on family.
My name is Toshanna Kendall. I pretty much like to have fun, which includes meeting new people and going places. I visit about eight countries and went on two cruises so far. This is my second semester here at John Jay, I will be transfering after I complete my core requirements. John Jay is a good school, but they do not have sociology as a major. Therefore, I would have to transfer somewhere else to fulfil my dream of becoming a social worker.
My name is Yasmil Garcia. I'm very independent and love to spend time alone. What i do the most is I spend time writing on my journal. I love to write; I would like to have more time to write to become a better writer. Writing helps me overcome my fears and feelings. I love to write when a bad event happens to me it helps me be specific with the details. Moreover, I am a part time baby sitter which is great because is only when they need me. I love to watch 48 hours and read books that involves crime and vampires.
My name is Stephanie Peralta. I was born and raised in Queens. I love spending time with my family, I also love beeing home. I love to talk to others; and listening to them. I love to travel and learning about cultures. My passion at heart is make-up. I would like to learn ways in which I could become a better writer. This is my first semester in John Jay, I hope it would be a good experience.

Telling me I can’t do something only motivates me more into doing it, I guess I just enjoy proving people wrong about me. I’m very social and enjoy good conversations and making people laugh. I love to travel and I’d like to visit as many different countries as possible in my lifetime. History is the most interesting subject to me. Writing is a easier way for me to express my feelings.
Hi, My name is Whitney. Everyone just calls me Angel. I love to travel, meet new people and learn new things. My major is Deviant Behavior and Social Control. I chose it because it's heavy in anthropology. My goal is to travel to Egypt and be able to study as a cultural anthropologist.
